Frequently Asked Questions
1. What version Onyx do I have?
Measure the inside height of your gas tank cover:
• 3" tall – You have a V1.5.
• 3-5/8" tall – You have a V1.
Because V1 bikes can vary slightly, it’s also helpful to measure the frame from the front to the rear of the battery compartment. Send me that measurement with your order.
2. I have a V1.2 — which cover do I need?
The best method is to measure the inside height of your cover. In most cases, a V1.5 cover will fit a V1.2.
3. Can you paint the covers?
Yes. If you want a custom look, painting is a great option. Lightly sand the surface, apply primer, then paint. Rust-Oleum 2-in-1 Primer works best for prepping the surface.
4. I saw a cover on your Instagram or somewhere else — can you make that one?
Most likely. I’ve been designing and printing Onyx covers for about 5 years, and not all of them are displayed online. If you have a specific one in mind, feel free to send me a message.
5. Do your covers have a lock?
Some covers do and some don’t. It depends on how much internal space the design allows. Larger covers made to fit 65Ah batteries do not have locks because there isn’t enough room inside.
6. Do the covers only come in black?
No. I can print in other filament colors upon request. However, color options are limited, so for exact color matching, painting or vinyl wrapping is recommended.
